Sumer had the World's Oldest Recorded Joke

Those Sumerians not only nurtured and expanded irrigation, writing, and government, they also wrote down our first known joke.  I can't tell you what it is because your parents wouldn't approve but I can tell you it involved passing gas.

Remember that if the ancient Sumerians could tell jokes so can you.  Anyone who posts a joke (Parentally approved) on their blog before October first gets 5 points extra credit. (And 8th graders this means you, too.)

How to add clips from the web

To add a clip from the web:

1. First, select the photo/comic that you want.
2. Second, right click it.
3. Third, in the box that pops up, select "copy image location"
4. Next, on your blog select "new post."
5. Then, at the top of the posting spot, to the right of center and the word "link"  click the picture of a hill.
6. Finally, in the box marked "paste and image URL here" paste (remember that is usually apple command and the letter "V").  This will automatically copy the location of where the photo/comic in the box.
7. Now, you can write a post that goes with that.  Make sure to tell your reader where the image came from and link to it (copy the address of the page that the image comes from and highlight text on your post.  Then, click the Link button and paste the address or the URL in the box.  Otherwise, you are plagiarizing (stealing) someone's work.
8. Remember, don't use other people's work very often (more than once every four times.)  If your readers wanted other people's work, they'd read them, not you.
